Manipur
Manipur is an Indian State located in the Northeastern region of India.
Manipur State is established on 21-Jan-1972. The largest city in Manipur is Imphal.
Total area of Manipur is 22,327 km² including
22,147.50 km² rural area and 179.50 km² urban area.
As per 2011 stats, Manipur has a population of 28,55,794 peoples, out of which urban population is 8,34,154 while rural population is 20,21,640. There are about 5,57,859 houses in the state, including 1,72,339 urban houses and 3,85,520 rural houses.
Manipuri is the official language of Manipur, which is spoken by the majority of the population. As per ISO 3166-2:IN standard – the ISO code of Manipur is IN-MN. Manipur state is further divided in to districts for administrative purposes.
Churachandpur is the largest district of manipur covering area of 4570 km² while Bishnupur is the smallest district of manipur covering area of 496 km². Imphal West is the most populous whereas Tamenglong is the least populous district in manipur state.
