Himachal Pradesh State is established on 25-Jan-1971. The largest city in Himachal Pradesh is Shimla.

55,402.18 km² rural area and 270.82 km² urban area.
As per 2011 stats, Himachal Pradesh has a population of 68,64,602 peoples, out of which urban population is 6,88,552 while rural population is 61,76,050. There are about 14,83,280 houses in the state, including 1,70,770 urban houses and 13,12,510 rural houses.
